Intro to cave / Apprentice Cave Diver Course

This course is designed to cover the academic and practical knowledge required to access the full cave diver certification. The course focuses primarily on limited penetration along the main line, and mastering critical emergency, team building, communication skills.

Pre requisites are:

  • Advanced Open Water Diver
  • 18 years of age on the day of the start of the course
  • 50 logged dives
  • Certified as a Nitrox diver user, recreational mixes

Max two students when booking together

5 days, 8 dives, $2050 one diver

$3700 two divers (must know each other and come together)

I only teach my students cave courses while they are in sidemount configuration

Add two days at the beginning of the class for sidemount gear configuration experience or formal training,

A stand-alone sidemount course is three days. Cost is $1275

Sidemount in connection with Apprentice or Full cave cost is $850

Prices include lectures, and training dives.

If additional dives are required to meet training standards, then the additional days are billed at guided diving rates:

1 diver, $405 per day

2 divers, $295 per person for the day

I also teach what we call the “zero to hero” course where all 2 courses (10 full days) are taught simultaneously through to the Full Cave Diver certification – prerequisites and additional training specifications, days, and costs still apply.

Prices for courses and guided diving include pick up and drop off at your hotel each day (if staying in Freeport area), transportation to and from the dive sites each day, cooler with ice and water, equipment storage (wet or dry) for the duration of the training.

Prices do not include cylinder or other rental equipment, oxygen or nitrox fills, training materials, certification fees, fuel surcharge.

Nitrox certification is mandatory but can be taught at the same time as the apprentice-intro course. Additional costs $180 per diver

A rental equipment price list and a suggested side mount equipment list are available upon request.

I highly recommend doing as much diving as possible prior to beginning cave diving training, with a great emphasis on buoyancy and trim.  Student should be able to hover motionless in the water horizontally without using the hands to move (tuck your hands into the bcd waist band).

This is the MOST important thing you can do in preparation for cave diving training.

Upon contact I will send more information on scheduling, deposits, equipment suggestions etc.

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to lock in the dates; can change course dates once without any penalties and warning. Prices remain the same for the calendar year.
